  Do yourself a favor and walk a few meters up the road to the restaurant-cafe Schwarzwaldhof next to the metzgerei, which has excellent food, charming service and better prices.

  There was no welcome despite there being many free tables, and after waiting a while we were gruffly told to take any table that was free. The waitress brought the menu card after a good 10 minute wait, and returned 15 minutes later to take our order. She valued her time very highly (as opposed to ours) - we got only about half a minute of airtime to place the order, during which she was very impatient with my limited German. There was no attempt to help us out with the menu. And later, no amount of eye contact or Entschuldigung would bring the waitress back to the table! And when she did, she was combative and rude, as was the old chef/host.

  They pretty much made it clear that we were unwanted and they were doing us a favor. Overall a waste of time, and an unpleasant and xenophobic towards tourists and non-Germans.
